About the Series
January-March 2024
The letter Paul wrote to the church in the city of Colossae emphasized the nature, preeminence, and sufficiency of Christ. At the time, the church was struggling with confusing voices that were adding to that message by creating additional rules to follow or diluting the message by creating other pathways to God.
Paul spoke into the confusion by proclaiming that Jesus is above all, the pathway to God is Jesus alone, and Jesus is in all, affecting every part of our lives.
For the person searching or seeking to understand who Jesus is, Colossians is a beautiful introduction to Him and the message of hope that He brings. For the person who knows Christ and is seeking to follow him, Colossians is a beautiful reminder of the work that Jesus has done for us and how the gospel shapes our everyday lives. In this series, we journey through Paul’s letter to the church in Colossae and find out how His words apply to us today.

From Series: "The Thread Between"
As followers of Jesus, we can look back on our lives and point to specific moments in which the Lord worked in our lives or in our church in unique—and even sometimes, miraculous—ways. Those moments are significant. They stand out in our memories, and they give us fuel to keep moving forward when things get difficult. The evidence of God’s work in our lives leads us to celebrate those moments and to even long for the next one, praying that God will continue to do unique things in our lives and in the life of our church. Many times, as we look at those high points, we miss the everyday, ongoing process of faithfully following Jesus. The practice of allowing Jesus to transform us through His Word, gathering with other Christians, and investing faithfully in His work can get lost as we search for the next big moment. But it’s that consistent, faithful approach—continually valuing the things Jesus sees as important—and the implementation of making those habits a part of our lives that brings the space and opportunity for God to do unique and special things through us. It’s the thread between the moments.
